Hello! I’m Dr. Cora Bresciano. I’ve taught literature and writing to high school students, university undergraduates, and middle and elementary students, as well. I’ve also taught professional development workshops to countless primary and secondary school teachers.

As an academic lecturer, I bring my love for the power of story to audiences at home and abroad, talking about books, authors, poets, fairy tales, and the influence of invisible things like absence and myth.

And as the creator of Really Lit, I provide breathlessly busy educators with top-notch resources for teaching literature and writing with joy and meaning.

My PhD is in Comparative Studies, with specializations in literature and 20th century Spain. I also have a Master of Fine Arts degree in English/Creative Writing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.

Beyond my love for literature, I’ve also been a theatrical composer, lyricist, and musical director; an academic editor; a grantwriter for arts organizations; and the co-founder and executive director of a global-education non-profit. I have a special heart for teachers of IB, AICE, and Honors literature, where advanced students need extra support for their quick minds and amazing creativity.

I grew up in New York and now I live in sunny Florida, USA. When I’m not teaching or designing curriculum, I can be found cooking for my children, family, and friends; reading under the palm trees; and writing my own fiction in a home filled with music, tea, art, and a thousand books.

Top-notch resources and done-for you lesson and unit plans for the HS Literature classroom.

If you’re in the South Florida area, bring Dr. Bresciano in to talk to your group about books and other fascinating things.
